Development of latex foam pillows from deproteinized natural rubber latex

چکیده

Currently, there is significant demand for pillows with improved pressure-relief features made from natural materials, alternatives to petrochemical-based foams. To meet the requirements, this study’s approach develop latex foam deproteinized rubber (DPNR) a unique dual-density cervical-shaped structure. In work, DPNR were produced at three different density levels which are high-density, medium-density and low-density. Extractable protein content of was confirmed lower than low ammonia NR (LATZ) commercial foams, making more hypoallergenic others. The physical properties foams examined in accordance Malaysian Standard MS679, found comply all requirements stipulated standard specifications. A novel pillow prototype produced, where has upper part higher part. Pressure-mapping used visualize pressure distribution patterns measure average peak when mannequin head placed on top pillow. study observed that decreasing increases softness foam. Softer led larger surface contact area, hence reduced value. This structure further increased area between head, thus

Occupational asthma caused by natural rubber latex.

IgE-mediated sensitization in protein allergens of natural rubber latex (NRL) can induce immediate hypersensitivity reactions ranging from mild urticaria in life threatening anaphylaxis after cutaneous, mucosal or visceral exposure. Elutable allergens from NRL gloves absorb to the cornstarch powder particles, become airborne, and have the potential to cause respiratory reactions. Recent studies...
